Retreat FAQ's

Do you have to be good at yoga to come on retreat?

Definitely not. Yoga is about growth. Our groups come from a broad range of experience levels.  You do not need to be flexible, experienced, fit or anything else. Our retreats are a safe space to stretch yourself.

I have special dietary needs. Will that be tricky with catering?

We love creating whole food, plant-based nutrition so retreat, by nature, is clean eating.  Meals are prepared free from gluten, refined sugar, animal products including dairy. We offer herbal and black tea, but no alcohol or coffee.  Each cabin has its own kitchenette, so you are welcome to bring extras (including your own coffee). There is also a cafe within 50 metres of the property for an espresso fix during free time  (See Seashells Cafe ph 3409 7886).

Are there any rules on retreat?

Yes. We ask that you keep the five precepts for the weekend:

No alcohol, cigarettes or recreational drugs.

No lying.

No stealing.

No sexual misconduct (outside of partnership)

No killing (all meals are vegan)

Other than that, it is expected that you will participate in all workshops and meals, unless excused with good reason.

What does our accommodation look like? Will I be sharing with someone from the group?

Twin-share accommodation means you and another member of the group will have your own self-contained cabin to share. Each cabin has its own newly renovated ensuite and kitchenette, table/desk space, outside table and chair space, as well as a queen bed and a single bed with privacy partitions.

The property itself is absolute waterfront with a much-loved grassy area and jetty, large shady fig tree, commercial-kitchen and marquee-style long table with weather protection.

Workshops take place in a weather-proof timber-floored building just big enough for 18 yoga mats.

I'm working to rehabilitate an injury. Will it be safe to practice yoga?

Yes. Injury will keep you focused on your goals. Yoga is the practice of ongoing rehabilitation. Under the guidance of an experienced practitioner, and within a group small, you are entirely safe to practice yoga with chronic or acute injury.

It's Mother's Day Weekend.  Am I being a bad Mum/Dad if I go?

Definitely not. Good parents model healthy habits. We are confident a supportive family will back your decision, and find an alternative time to celebrate you with their appreciation.

I'm not keen on too much sun.  Will we be outdoors a lot?

No. The Yoga and Psychology Retreat is a sun-safe event. All workshops and meals take place under full cover.

Your Induction Pack includes a check list of what to bring so we will remind you to bring your sun-safe kit.

Remember, places are strictly limited to a 'first come, first served' basis. As  accommodation is strictly limited, we cannot take any further bookings once the quota is reached.
